Friday the 13th...lucky for some

An incredible evening - and such a privilege to attend as a guest - at the Daily Record Our Heroes Awards 2016.

So many inspiring, courageous and compassionate finalists - of all ages, all communities and across a range of different interests, from foster carers to committed teachers to brave volunteers. It left me feeling humbled and hopeful in equal measure.

I also got the chance to say a quick hello to some of the famous guests who had turned up to honour and celebrate the finalists - including KT Tunstall and Simple Minds - with amazing performances from both.
