Breakfast in bed

Ages ago Olivia asked me if she could have breakfast in bed on her birthday (she had seen an episode of Peppa Pig where they take Mummy Pig her breakfast in bed on her birthday). We couldn't do it on her actual birthday as we were staying in a hotel so today was the day.

It was a breakfast fit for a Princess:
Weetabix with chopped banana
A tiny egg cake thing brought back from our hols
A pancake with chocolate writing
Apple juice

Her little face was a picture when I took the tray into her, especially as she was only expecting weetabix. She asked me to sit with her in bed and she balanced the tray very carefully while chatting away in between mouthfuls. She couldn't actually eat everything as it was a bit much for her so she had a break before returning to the pancake!

Later on in the day we stumbled across some sort of huge celebration in Brussels so we had a walk through the streets, which were closed to traffic, sampling the party atmosphere. Turns out it was National Day and I hadn't taken my camera with me!
