Eiderlings

On our way to the Leith Market we saw that one of the eider ladies had emerged with a couple of ducklings - the first I've seen this year. They're very fast moving and as buoyant as corks, so getting them both above the surface and in the shot was rather hit-and-miss. Their mum was bathing and preening enthusiastically.

The market was very busy; the sunshine evidently brought the Leithers out.
