Yet another....

wonderful sign of spring....the buds on the trees giving that fabulous colourful and fat feeling to the skeletal structures of the limbs.  

There is a window here in Cape Breton, where there is no snow, no bugs, some decent warmish weather, the mud has dried up.....and then...bang, that window is well and truly shut!!!!  the bloody black flies are here!!!  i caught sight of my first few as i went for a walk after working in the studio, around 5 pm.   not too many, but they are lurking!!!   in a few days we will be fending off the hordes of damn black fly that can drive us indoors on a splendid spring evening out on the back deck having dinner....we spend so much time indoors during the winter...and then to be driven back indoors - it isn't quite as bad as i'm painting....and i have gotten a bit more used to them over the past 30 years or so...but not completely at peace with the little buggers!!!

My sweet Terry is taking me out for pizza tonight....woo hoo.  perfect end to a pretty perfect day!
