Green Hairstreak

A green hairstreak on wood spurge at Denbies hillside, Surrey, this morning. I like its stripy socks. Yesterday's heavy rain had greened everything up and the warm sunshine was encouraging butterflies out again. Spots today beyond the hairstreak: small heath, dingy skipper, grizzled skipper, brimstone, red admiral, peacock, orange tip, green veined white, holly blue and a small copper. All in all, a good day for butterflies.

Yup, like London buses.
