Honeysuckle

I spent the morning - unusually for a Thursday - not doing my French homework. It was already done - whoop whoop!!
So I had a bit of a tidy up and a bit of a sit around until it was time to go. It was just me and Miss S again for the fifth week in a row. Everyone else seems to have disappeared. Hopefully they'll back or there'll be some new faces from September otherwise the course won't continue which I'd be so disappointed about.
I picked up Miss E and took her to Miss L's school. We had a half hour wait for Miss L while she was in summer games club. Miss E and her old friend Miss H had a lovely time playing together and wandering around on the field. It was bittersweet to see - lovely that they were enjoying each other's company; sad that they lost touch so completely despite being at school together since nursery. Stupid bloody school constantly mixing up the classes!!!
After about an hour in the sun it was time to head to McDonalds in Milton Keynes. We didn't go to gymnastics last night and Miss L was distraught. She loves our Wednesday afternoons! I promised we'd go tonight.
We went through the drive-thru but when I parked up to put the milk in my tea I was surprised and delighted to see Dr K, Miss A and Mr H walking towards us.
We took our food and tea inside and joined them!
It was nice to catch up with Dr K and the children had fun jumping up and down from the high tables which I hate!!
There was a very strange member of staff wandering around constantly asking if we were OK/if we'd finished/if we wanted balloons/if we'd finished/if she could clear away our things - which we were still eating/playing with. Really odd and annoying. Something Dr K and I are not very patient with!!
Eventually she came up and snapped something about the children messing about with the straws. I didn't really think anything of it - other than that she was being weird and annoying again - until I noticed that Miss E was in tears.
Apparently they'd been blowing straws out of their wrappers - which they shouldn't have been doing but which should have been brought to my attention - and the woman snatched them out of Miss E's hand and snapped that they were being annoying children, that they'd finished their meal and they should go, not hang around being annoying and making trouble.
I'm not condoning taking the straws and blowing them out of their packets but to reduce an eight year old to tears? I was furious.
And it's hardly the bloody Ritz is it?!!!
