A sense of history
I saw a huge number of youngish grey squirrels chasing each other around in Bishop's Park this morning. It only struck me a little later that this one and his playmates were climbing all over a 500 year old holm oak tree - that is to say one that would have been planted during the reign of Henry VIII some 400 years before the introduction of his species to this country.
