Dingy

It's that time of year again and I just can't help myself!

The limestone grasslands have exploded with cowslips swathing the floor with yellow but further up on the common looking down a slope into the woodlands there are orchids in abundance too.

A dingy skipper landed oh so briefly on a daisy and I dropped to the floor to get a shot having been shadowing it for a while. You could easily overlook this tiny little brown almost moth like butterfly but close up I found it rather pretty.

It was idyllic: the warmth of the sun on my back, a very gentle breeze, Tilly and Poppy tongues hanging out in the heat on the hill top and with the croak of a raven overhead. As near to paradise as one could get.
