It's Grim Up North

Hamlet

On the way to meet friends at the Whaletail Cafe ( a must if you ever visit Lancaster, you know you're bound to go there one day.)

Then onwards to see Hamlet at the Dukes Theatre, performed by The Tobacco Factory from Bristol.. I'd never seen Hamlet before. King Lear was my A level tragedy, in more ways than one. 

It was hot in the theatre and I watched the elderly audience nodding off. Performed in the round, every time a side door opened to let a member of the cast in or to change the scene, a blast of cooling air wafted across the floor reawakening the sleeping. Then the temperature would start to rise again.....
