Grandson"s Choice

It was a beautiful morning, warm and sunny, so we decided to go to the Farmer's Market in town. At this time of year there is a bountiful supply of fresh produce beautifully arranged to entice us--piles of multicolored peppers and tomatoes, mounds of carrots , baskets of lettuce, jars of fresh local honey and , my personal favorite, the pastry table loaded with cream scones and fresh lemonade. It takes realwill power not to buy one of everything.

Our usual approach is to walk all the way around the square with its weekly assortmant of live musicians, the animal pen with baby goats, bunnies, ducks and chickens (not for the table but for the children to play with), the fortune tellers and other peripheral attractions so that we can carefully assess the edible offerings. On the way back we make our purchases .

Since there was no need to be discriminating in the number of pictures I took, I had so many that it was difficult to decide, although I favored the basket full of squash blossoms for its vibrant color. In the end I let my grandson choose. Not a fan of anything resemblling a vegetable, he chose the peaches because he especially liked the sign.
