Caswell Bay

Entry for 9th July owing to mis-blipping Sunday's entry on Monday!

Monday: Caswell Bay

Ahhh. Sleep. Sleep is for the weak. Hah. Awake at 5.30am with a baby who had frankly had enough of sleep and wanted breakfast.

How is it the first one up is the last one to finish breakfast and get dressed?!! Both mum and I were still in pyjamas when everyone else was headed to the beach!

Still, we did make it to the beach. Steve built a castle on a hill with a moat. Dad drew lines in the sand and Ben followed trying to dig up the lines. The cousins arrived, there was lots of playtime, drawing in the sand, jumping on sandcastles - fun times! I froze and caved in and went to the cafe, and everyone else eventually shivered their way in and we had coffees and icecream.

Back to the chalets for naps and lunch and a breather, then after a lot of discussion (by which time Charley had had another sleep and Steve and mum had prepped the sausage casserole and got it in the oven) Matt, Sue, Steve and I went into Swansea (with Charley), Chris and Therese took the twins and went for a walk, and Grandma and Grandpops took the rest of the kids (Iselin, Nathaniel, Ben and Aruna) and headed back to the beach.

We all ate together this evening which was lovely. And while I had a lie-down putting the boys to bed, Steve pulled all the photos off our cameras. Dad is happy. All his children and grandchildren, all in the same photo!

Ben is loving all these people to play with and freedom to run around - we really really should go to the beach or parks as a family near home more often, I just wish we had this much family to share life with this easily back home!
