25 Christmas Questions

Today, I stopped at the store to pick up a few strings of lights and some holiday decor fit for our quaint little patio and then spent the best part of an hour putting it all up.

I absolutely LOVE Christmas!

25 Christmas Questions

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags?
Mostly wrapping paper, since I love seeing Sean tearing through it all.

2. Real tree or Artificial?
Real...Christmas isn't Christmas without the smell of a real tree.

3. When do you put up the tree?
We usually do it the weekend after Thanksgiving, but since the last 2 years our trees have been dried out and drooping by Christmas, we're waiting!!

4. When do you take the tree down?
After New Year's.

5. Do you like eggnog?
I love it, especially with a little kick!

6. Favorite gift received as a child?
I would have to say when my dad bought me a bike, I think I was about 11 or 12. He had it stored in another room, and he had a roll of wrapping paper that he hung over the door and pushed them through.

7. Hardest person to buy for?
Ryan's dad - apparently my mother-in-law just found a bunch of clothes in a pile, with tags still on them from last year's gifts! haha

8. Do you have a nativity scene?
My dad made me a beautiful wood one a few years ago, and I keep it up all year long.

9. Mail or email Christmas cards?
I don't usually do Christmas cards...I like getting cards because they all get saved and end up in my scrapbooks, but I know most people just throw them out and I feel it's a waste of trees.

10. Worst Christmas gift you ever received?
I had just gotten my first car, and I received a bag full of car supplies, and not even cool stuff like seat covers and fuzzy dice, but fix-a-flat and window cleaner. I felt like it was really thoughtless and unsentimental, and most of the stuff went unused.

11. Favorite Christmas Movie?
I saw this movie on the family channel awhile ago called 'Christmas in Boston' and I watch it every year...Just love it! But I like all the movies during the season on ABC Family...Rudolph, Frosty, all those classics.

12. When do you start shopping for Christmas?
This year, I started right around Halloween and it's now just passed Thanksgiving and I've only got 2 gifts to buy!

13. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present?
I did once, by giving it as a Yankee Swap gift.

14. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas?
I love squash, and since it's not something we make (my husband hates it), it's like a special treat when it's part of the holiday buffet.

15. Lights on the tree?
We have colored ones on the tree and white ones on the patio and around the windows.

16. Favorite Christmas song?
I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas or Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas are my two favorites.

17. Travel at Christmas or stay home?
Christmas Eve will be hosted around the corner from our home, then Christmas morning is here at our home with just us, then it's traveling a little bit to spend time with the in-laws the rest of Christmas Day.

18. Can you name all 9 of Santa's reindeer?
You know Dasher, and Dancer, Prancer, and Vixen...Comet, Cupid, Donner and Blitzen....The most famous: Rudolph!

19. Angel on the tree top or a star?
A bright, colorful * star *

20. Open the presents Christmas eve or Christmas day?
Christmas Eve with extended family, Christmas morning with us & Sean, then Christmas Day with close family.

21. Most annoying thing about this time of the year?
Shopping is annoying for me, because people are not very nice and always rushing around, being rude. Lately, I've found bringing my iPod, crammed with Christmas tunes helps me tune out the rest of the world, so I can actually enjoy my trip to the store. Of course, I also go without the baby, during the morning weekday hours when most people are working!

22. Favorite ornament theme or color?
I love red and gold, with touches of green, and since our living room is burgundy with gold accents, it makes for easier decorating!

23. Favorite for Christmas dinner?
Turkey

24. What do you want for Christmas this year?
A black knee-length wool coat, scrapbooking supplies, and the latest Nicholas Sparks novel.

25. Is Christmas your favorite time of year?
Yes, because I love all the laughter shared with family and friends...I love finding the perfect gift and seeing happy expressions on Christmas day...I love the food, and the holiday cheer, and memories reminisced with continued traditions. I love the smell in the air...of snow, and burning wood. It's such a beautiful time of year, if you look passed the materialistic version, and just think simply Christmas and what it's really all about.
