Return of the Lily Pads

The pond is transforming once again.  During the winter the lily pads sink and the water surface is smooth.  The water is warming and the water lilies are starting to reappear.  The turtles are sunning in the shallow areas and the tree swallows are swooping, but the ducks are no where to be found.  Last spring I was concerned that they had moved out, but they must have been nesting, because a few weeks later they returned with ducklings.  I hope I get back here before the babies arrive.
