Watch the birdie

I came across these silver birds in the park by the river today. I don't know the background but each has some writing inscribed on its back, mostly people's names but one said 'winter fruit crumble', most bizarre, but very eye catching. While I was taking some photos of the river a little boy walked by with his grandparents and said "wow, that's a really cool statue", his grandma said, "that's not a statue it's a lady taking photos". That's the first time I've been mistaken for a statue!
