Beached

"Beaching is the process in which a ship or boat is laid ashore, or grounded deliberately" according to Wikipedia.

We've kind of beached ourselves for the last week or so, cutting ourselves off from the ebb and flow of our normal routine, happy to stroll, sit and watch the world go by in a cafe with a drink or a meal, sit in the sun and read.

Tomorrow our friends Tony & Rosie arrive and it will be good to share their company and catch up with them before we head home on Friday and get back in the mainstream- and before we get barnacles on our bottoms!

This is the beach at Guardamar de Segura, about half an hour up the coast towards Alicante, where we spent the day walking and sitting on the beach, eating sardines and ice cream (not on the same plate!) and reading.
