Every child is an artist
We had the "wash up" meeting from the festival today. Despite the rough weather no back up cars were called to rescue anyone (during the festival, not the committee meeting!). We were very happy with the way the walks were led, particularly by the 6 new walk leaders. It's a "well done" to everyone.
There are always lessons to be learned and we have made recommendations to remind ourselves for next time.
I did a quick food shop in Haltwhistle and then delivered artists' materials and old towels to Whistle Art Stop. I mentioned the project in yesterday's blip. Alison, who runs it, has recently been to Calais, taking a van load of supplies to the migrants there. She included some artists' materials and found a man who was hugely grateful to have fresh supplies for his paintings.
In the yard of the project there are painted tyres and old trainers. The walls of the sheds are all painted. I have combined the lettering on a trough - now full of cheerful weeds - with a mural from one shed wall. Interesting that the young people chose The Scream as one of their subjects.
Tonight there was a meeting of a small group of villagers to discuss making a village calendar for next year. It was a productive meeting with expertise shared and I think the project will work.
That's 2 good committees today.
