Planet Mercury transit across the sun.

Today the planet Mercury crosses in front of the sun as seen from Earth. I set up my telescope so it would project an image of the sun onto a piece of paper. The fuzzy dot is the planet Mercury which wanders in front of the sun about 13 times a century. The sun is not round as it wouldn't fit into the lens that I used.

pps I've arrowed a sunspot patch. Real Mercury is that tiny round disc to the left and down from the arrow point, sigh . .
