Mother's Day
It’s somewhat of a tradition to have a family picnic at Gaswork’s Park on Mother’s Day. We don’t have any mothers who like to cook (nor should they today!) so we indulge once a year in nearby Ivar’s yummy fish and chips ! My Mom would have been happy with this also, altho I think she did like to cook…) Yesterday the park was teeming with people in tank tops. Today it’s cloudy and very cool and we literally were the only picnic-ers there so I couldn’t resist a set of pictures of this gorgeous almost deserted spot in Seattle at the north end of Lake Union. ( A former gasification plant turned into park). The family pix are VERY candid.:-) The boys Mom was with her Mom. It was fun —I appreciated every minute… and Maple sugar had a great time too.. the blip is her catching french fry number 43 thrown by Oskar….with Fiona and her Mom. Fiona brought her Mom some very lovely cards she had made and the girls bought their Mom “Rexie” (the dinosaur) earrings. Flowers and chocolate for lucky Nanna. This blip picture also shows that those “Ride the Duck” boats are back at it on the lake…in spite of many accidents. Wish it weren’t so.
And now.. Wallander season 4 is on Masterpiece theater.! A fine day. I hope all who celebrated Mother's Day today had a wonderful day.
