This is how Formula One should be.
Here is a Formula One car from the 1970's. (Brabham BT42 for those that care) To race these hard, 'back in the day' you did have to work on the basis that you may not have seen Monday morning. They weren't designed to be death traps, just things were different then. The survival cell that is de facto now has only really been in effect for the last 10 years at best.
This is what makes race meetings like the Silverstone Classic great, to see these old cars loved and cared for, and out being used, not just gathering dust somewhere.
