Sunny Sunday walk in the hills
Misty when we first looked out of the window this morning but, by mid-morning, the sun was shining and the temperature rose.
So, after we'd taken Louie for a walk, MrM and I packed a picnic and set off for the Ingram Valley. We passed the crowds who were enjoying the river and lighting barbecues, and parked the car just before Linhope. From there we walked to Alnhammoor, up to Little Dod and along Salter's Road to Low Bleakhope, then by the River Breamish, and back via Alnhammoor. Salter's Road is actually a track, but the 'footpath' (as it's marked on the map) back turned out to be a metalled road! A lovely walk with some fantastic - if rather hazy - views. Quiet too - once past Alnhammoor we didn't see another soul! The Blip is looking north to Hedgehope Hill in the distance.
Back home for a rather late meal. Next time we must take sun cream and hats - I have a sneaky suspicion that MrM will look rather red tomorrow...
