orange-tips and tigers...
I had planned to go to Bempton today but I just didn't fancy getting up early so I stayed put. I saw a colony of green tiger beetles yesterday and so I went back with the macro and had an enjoyable hour in the sun watching them, taking photos and also watching the solitary bees and parasitic wasps...that's the extra.
I then went off to another reservoir for a wander and was delighted to see an orange-tip butterfly. I went round the corner and found two more that were mating. I sat on the path and took a few photos like you do, then, another male flew in and was trying to muscle in on the action. It had two goes but was unsuccessful. That's a bit lucky :)
