... for the taxi to take me & my wine to Marie & Robert's house for dinner.

Robert is president of our Rotary club. It has become an annual event for us to have a "Come Dine With Me" style dinner at a member's house. A mini fundraiser. 4 of us paid £20 each for dinner last night, so £80 goes to Robert's charity of choice.

Great value and fun. Nice to have a politics free evening as well - one of us is a local councillor and her party slipped a bit in the rankings on Thursday, but there's an unspoken "no politics" rule.

One of us lost her husband suddenly quite recently. Three of us share demented/decrepit parent problems. We managed to steer away from those subjects too.

Well done to Marie with the food - Mexican. Lots of it and all delicious.
