Arrivals

I spend some considerable time people watching at Heathrow. The beginning of the film, Love Actually, takes place in the Arrivals hall of an airport. You get to see some emotional and loving reunions between people that have been apart for some time. They just throw themselves in each others arms and forget that they are surrounded by other people. On this occasion I was waiting for Lin who has come over to visit her mum. Lin doesn't throw her arms around me, but she does always greet me with a lovely smile, as seen here. We've known one another for a long time now. At least I don't need to stand there with what we call the Idiot Board. (So called because you always feel like an idiot as you are holding it, not necessarily because you are meeting and greeting an idiot, although sometimes that is the case, but not on this occasion.)
