Royal Star Arcade
The Royal Star Arcade is a favourite place of mine when in need of a blip. There's so much going on in terms of lines, patterns, shadows and shapes. Today was no exception with this sculpture of a horse's head, which I'd not noticed before, as a centrepiece. Lovely as the arcade is it's a bit of a backwater in the town and doesn't get a great deal of footfall.
Some progress to report on installing the diswasher. This afternoon I identified the source leak in the hot water pipe - a push fit connector between the flexible tap hose and the hot water copper pipe., Fortunately it was above the valve where it could be isolated. Fortunately again we had an appointment to have a dash cam fitted and next door was a Screwfix warehouse from where I was able to procure the appropriate fitting.
Back home it was time for some redical surgery on the pipework to get the new bit in, removing a section of pipe, cutting off the leaking pushfir connection and reassembling with the new fitting. And do you know what? It worked (so far). Of course, the leaking hot water pipe was nothing to do with installing the dishwasher. Perhaps now I'll be able to get on and complete the job I set out to do.
On top of this, not to take the easy option we decided to have our first barbeque since 2014 tonight. We have one of those chimney things to light the coals. Could we find any newspaper to stuff in the bottom? In the end we resorted to using old envelopes to get it going. And why does it always take me three attempts to get the coals to catch? (Yes I know, I should have a gas barbeque)
