The Cat Came Back

My Dear Fellow,

I felt the need for a walk today, and ended up back at the botanics, despite not intending to go there. You can expect a week's worth of pictures from there. Just so you know.

It was a bit chilly today, so I decided to splash out for a ticket to the greenhouse. I do like the giant waterlilies and the heat was most welcome too.

It was while taking this picture that I bumped into a black cat. He seemed a bit grumpy and I assumed he'd got lost and somehow found himself in the warmest part of the building. He seemed friendly enough, so I tried to escort him back out, but about halfway there he decided to make friends with a group of tourists instead.

Nevertheless, responsible cat-lover that I am, I informed the ticket guy there was a cat wandering about somewhere among the palm trees and bamboo. The ticket guy rolled his eyes.

"We chase him out every evening," he said. "But he always comes back."

"Oh well," I said. "Just so long as he can find his way out."

"He has no problem getting out," sighed the ticket guy. "Or back in again. We have no idea how he does it."

You can't blame him. I was willing to pay £5.50 to get out of the cold, and he can do it for free. Also the carp in there are HUGE.
