Goatfell
We got away at 7:35, a bit later than planned, and within a short distance the Cap'n was able to deploy his new toy - a cruising chute to speed us along. Soon we were hitting a knot through the water; after an hour the end of Dunoon was just off the beam. So, sails down, engine on until we got to Garroch Head where we picked up a north wind and we were able to close haul or way up into Loch Fyne.
So, into delightful Tarbert where we nosied around the craft shops (including a stand of Mairi Fleck watercolours) before settling ourselves into some bar with a jukebox. Glory be if it didn't have every prog rock tune ever recorded. Soon the chemical brothers selections were emptying the bar and Zappa's Hot Rats was blaring out. Another four pints of ice cold fizzy lager, barman!
Back to the boat to catch the last rays of the sun and enjoy one of the cap'n's trademark curries. Nutritious and good. Where the hours went after that, I have no idea.
