The Big Man & The Big Mountain

Mario & I went for a drive to Fairlie, and ended up at Mt Cook (about another 150km  up the road).
This is a bronze statue of the late, great, Sir Edmund Hilary, looking over at the mighty Aoraki/Mt Cook.

There's a fair few climbers that have lost the battle to conquer that mountain, and some of their bodies are still up there. 

It was 22 degrees Celsius today, which is incredibly warm for this time of year in NZ.
