Painting by my grandfather

After my grandmother passed away, some of her things were mailed to my mother.  This painting hung in my Grandfather's study - it was the one that he painted when they were taking classes.  

My grandmother's paintings are careful and detailed - my grandfather's is rather slapdash and done - but I really like it - I like the suggestion of the buildings and I think the composition is fantastic.  

My mother had asked my sister and I if we wanted anything - and I wanted the painting.  My mother sent it in my birthday package and it arrived tonight.  I am so happy with it.
