I drop in to the vet's every so often on the morning walk, to weigh Maisie. Today she weighed about 0.7 kgs more than a couple of weeks ago - oops! Too many training treats - I need to cut back her food for a while, poor girl!

We went to a local fishing lake in the afternoon - I haven't been for a couple of years - but it can be great for bird watching and also welcomes dogs. Yesterday I decided that photographing a cuckoo was the top of my 2016 bucket list - and today I did it! I also saw a beautiful wheatear (extra photos)

Maisie was so very good and sat quietly and patiently while I photographed  the cuckoo and wheatear - I let her have a little swim in the lake - you can see her here!
