Polesden Lacey

It was a beautiful morning and so I decided to take Murdoch on a longer walk round the Polesden Lacey estate. It is a National Trust property which welcomes dogs, but as it adjoins a working farm you just have to be careful that there are no sheep (and lambs) in the field that you walk through. There is a very useful sign system hanging on the gate post to each field saying whether the sheep were 'in' or 'out', so you know whether the dog needs to be on a lead or not.

The Edwardian house (see extra photo) was refurbished in 1906 by the owner Mrs Greville, who was a well known hostess and she held celebrated house parties here. The future George VI and Queen Elizabeth spent part of their honeymoon here in 1923.

Murdoch disgraced himself by rolling in a cow patty so I did not enjoy a coffee at the café after my walk, but took him straight home to get washed!

I am loving this good weather!
