See Some Blue Sky & Feel The Sun On Our Faces
There is a 'horse whisperer' that regularly visits our yard, she is not a Monty Roberts behaviour expert horse whisperer but a "I speak to horses" type of horse whisperer. Apart from the fact that I don't believe in that type of thing, I have also felt that Johnny is a pretty happy and relaxed kind of chap and I don't need to pay £50 to be told that.
Emily, my yard manager, had always threatened to get her to do a freebie reading just to prove it and whilst I was away she did. It came back that Johnny was a very happy boy (as we knew) but he apparently told her that he had stiffness in his legs (cynical me knows that the lady was there when I was showing off the specialist boots I had bought for him) and she also said that he wanted to have a bit more fun and variety and maybe do some jumping. Inexplicably and even though I don't believe in her, I can't get this thought out of my head. So instead of working Johnny in the school we had some play time and I put a jump up and let him jump at liberty (excuse the very poor quality extra)...he seemed to really enjoy himself and was clearing them with ease...maybe it is time for me to try some showjumping again.
It was a lovely evening and so nice to finally see some blue sky and feel the sun on our faces and it is here to stay for the next few days at least.
