Claire awoke to find flowers, chocolate and gin awaiting her. Truly a breakfast of champions, which set her up for a day at school.

She's the only one that left the house - the offspring are both on study leave. They seemed to manage some studying, while also preparing an amazing selection of Persian bread, meat and dips.

Angus and I went down to the Jeffries to take delivery of some large packets. One of them had clearly had a run in with a forklift, evidenced by the tyre track imprinted across the cardboard. Inside the panel was well flattened.

Johnny and Louise joined us for the birthday dinner. But the high point of the day was an email that Claire got from UCAS: she has been offered a place at Strathclyde to do a PGDE next year.
