Chirpy chirpy cheep cheep

Came across this little chap chirping away on the lawn this evening, obviously a bit lost, having run away from home. He still has lots of fluff and I'm not sure he should be out of the nest this early.
Mr F says he's a baby chaffinch, and while he was setting up the tripod to take a good photo, mummy bird came by and fed him a juicy snack (the chick, though I doubt Mr F would have minded!)
I hope he'll be safe tonight, I sent Mr F out after dark to check up on the chick, and there was a big owl flying around.
