...just a note...I didn't take this pic...I brought my camera with big plans for getting a lovely blip, and then realized the card was still in the computer at home :0(  ..so No1 son took this, but it represents our day so he has given me permission to use it.

We visited Aftermath by Frank Gohlke at the museum.  It is "40 black & white photographs capturing the devastation of the 1979 Wichita Falls Tornado and the landscape a year later".  Very cool to see.

You can always find someone here who has a tornado story from 1979 - my neighbor was just a little girl and she remembers her Grandma pushing her and her brother into a linen closet and lying over the top of them - when they came out there were bits of roofing material stuck in her hair.

Another of my neighbors was on her way to pick up her daughter from pre-school when the sirens went off.  She pulled into a side street and knocked at the door of a house.  The lady who lived there let her in and the two of them sat on the floor of an inner hallway and waited.  When it was all over she thanked the lady and rushed off, worried about her daughter...she has no idea which house she went into, or who the lady was that sheltered her.
