Fraser Island

Today we arrived in Fraser Island - the largest sand island in the world, where bizarrely rainforest grows out of the sand! We have to travel in a huge pink 4WD bus, these big wheels are needed as driving around Fraser island is one big bumpy ride. We went for a refreshing swim in lake Mckenzie- a beautiful crystal clear lake made purely from rainwater, running alongside a lovely stretch of white sand. In the afternoon we went for a walk in the rainforest, (although the tour guide put me off by naming all the deadly snakes and spiders... )
This photo was captured in the evening when we were on the beach- the sky quickly changed to a scorching red- it reminded me of a painting.
