Tibetan Plateau

We left Lijiang in sunshine (see extra) and drove most of the day to reach Shangri-La which is located at 3200 meters altitude.  Here it is dull & drizzly and not looking its best.  

The altitude doesn't seem to be affecting us too badly but I have got a stinking cold.

I didn't blip Tiger Leaping Gorge and left that to Jane but this shows the view as we came onto the Tibetan plateau.  It has a quite different feeling from the rest of China.

We were sad to say goodbye to our lovely guide Lily along the way  (See extra 2)
