Brockwell blossom
A lovely Bank Holiday Monday – a long lie followed by a walk to Brixton via pink cherry blossom in West Norwood, white blossom (hawthorn?) in Brockwell Park and lots of bright green foliage. The poplar trees in Brixton's Windrush Square look fabulous.
We had a wee look in Pop Brixton then opted for a mint tea in the sunshine outside a Moroccan café near Brixton Road. Once watered, we wandered to Herne Hill on the lower Brockwell Park path, with a quick stop in Halfords for a gander at the bicycles (where I found a new front light for the Bobbin).
On waiting for a bus to West Norwood, our willpower weakened at the sight of the new Mediterranean restaurant on Norwood Road. We've tested it out and it's delicious. I recommend the warm goat's cheese with hazelnut and pomegranate sauce. Mmmm.
Fred's making plans for our holiday in a month, finding ways of getting us and the bicycles from one place on the west coast of Scotland to another. The skippers of various boats seem quite up for ferrying us about. This is good news. Exciting!
This morning's foxes: Skinny was first – he peeked in at the cat flap. Bushy-Black was a few steps behind him.
This morning's cat: Kitty Restless. She toured the flat, played string, then messed about in the flowerbed.
