Nothing's going to Rain on my Parade.

May Day in Ilkley is always carnival day and traditionally started by a parade through the town.
I went to see my girls getting ready as they were all taking part. I wanted a photograph of them together as l knew it would be impossible in the procession as they were in different groups.
The theme of the Carnival this year was Best of British and the girl's school had chosen British Inventions. Ruby was part of the telephone group, Verity was a Cat's Eye , those eyes in her outfit really did reflect and Kitty was a vacuum cleaner!
It's was starting to drizzle when l took this photograph, by the time the parade started l cannot even begin to describe the weather, it was torrential! The streets were lined with people and umbrellas enjoying the best of British Weather!
