Beihai park and wandering the Hutongs
It's bank holiday weekend and it couldn't come soon enough! We are ticking off a few things we still want to do before we leave. So today we went to Beihai park to see the famous stupor. I've seen pictures of this beautiful lake covered in lotus flowers with a lush green island and the stupor set against a bright blue sky so we were excited. However, the pollution was really bad today. We could barely make out the white stupor against a hazy grey sky so I couldn't get a good photo of it. We were still pleased to have seen it.
We decided to wander towards Nanluoguxiang through some quieter lesser known hutongs which we enjoyed more. We got to see a little more of daily life for many Beijingers very different to our daily life in the same city.
The extra is of a famous yoghurt drink we have been avoiding because we weren't sure of the cleanliness of its reusable container. Turns out it was really tasty! Glad we finally tried it.
