Quite nostalgic - not.

I thought these were about extinct; it appears not quite.

Following a "Shout" from herself I hurtled through to the Living room & beheld this sight.
(Fire Service terminology -  A turnout was referred to as a "Shout")

Seemingly I caught it at its "best". Earlier it had, apparently, been less distinct, but covering more "sky". Seconds later I watched it lose its integrity and start to spread again. I used to enjoy the odd chimney fire, you could justify your existence without a great deal of trauma to the occupants. I also swept chimneys as a "Fiddle".

When I think of the number of times I've scampered about on roofs, and the one time I came whistling past the living room window and the lady of the house saying (I'm led to believe)
"Was that your husband who just passed the window?" I'm not too nostalgic. Not that I was hurt in the slightest, (other than pride).

I am, further, led to believe no-one is allowed on a roof without a belt with lines secured and passed to a man back and front of the house for safety.
Consider this:-
1 man on the roof
2 men with lines watching his safety
1 Officer in charge
1 man on the pump
5 men so far.
Consider, further we could, legally, roll out with a crew of 4 & never carried more than 6 who's going to stand by at the hearth to prevent spread into the room?
etc. etc. etc.
Map location = pure guessimetry.
