The Colour Purple
A beautiful sunny day, a great time to visit the bluebells at Dockey Wood on the Ashridge estate.
We met up with June Fox and Cat Chapman for a pre-bluebell tea and cake, Ashridge was a popular destination this morning. On then to Dockey Wood and this year the National Trust are trying to protect the area so there was a small fee for none NT members and many paths closed to minimise the trampling of the flowers that has occurred the last few years. Again it was a popular spot but not too tricky to get a photo without someone in it, you just needed to be patient. The canopy of the trees has not yet fully formed and the light on the bluebells seemed to make their colour really zing, it looked better than I (Chris) can remember it looking for some years.
Just had a little BBQ for tea, yummy.
