Evening Standard

Growing up in London you always had the choice of the 'Evening Standard' or the 'Evening News' as a paper.
Not long after the 'News' became obsolete the 'Evening Standard' became a free newspaper.
The Standard will be familiar to anyone travelling on the London Underground as it is freely (see what I did there) available at most London Underground stops after about 2pm.
We also have 'The Metro' as a free paper in the mornings, so you are always able to catch up with the latest news on your commute.

Today was not a good day for former London Mayor 'Ken Livingstone' who was caught up in a bizarre rant about Adolf Hitler!

Could never stand 'Red Ken' and am no supporter of the Labour Party so it made for a good chuckle on my train back home today!
