I'd rather be blue...
As it's a Bank Holiday Weekend I thought I'd take MrsDB out for a jolly, cheer the auld bird up a bit with a spot of lunch, fine dining at Eslington Villas. And what do you know, on the way we passed a car park full of buses, old and new. Who would have expected that? We went in for a look and I bought many models and books and took many photos. Missed out on lunch but the Greggs pasty and plastic coffee was really good. I knew that because she stopped moaning about the rain running down her neck for a while. Actually I think she was thrilled at her surprise day out because she didn't hold back in expressing her delight. It was a rather personal exchange so naturally you wouldn't expect me to divulge it here. All I can say is that what she promised to do to me when she got me home would make my eyes water. I made her make one promise though, would she remove the wing mirrors, single deckers only and no bendies.
The photo is one of the beautiful new Wrights double deckers designed especially for the old 56 route, Bishop Auckland to Newcastle. It's a coach built body in an exquisite livery and they were giving free rides too. Bank Holiday Sundays don't get better than this.
