Brought from Germany by Ingaborg. Black currant schnapps , Haribo sweeties and SOUR CHERRY jam. Haribo has a factory in Bad Godesburg and it's a regular pilgrimage cos its great fun but you simply can't eat many as the sugar rush is actually life threatening. . Why the capitals for the jam? Well it is home made by our friend Gretal who stones thousands of the small blighters in order to turn them into the best jam in the entire world of jamdom And I speak as someone who thinks her own bramble jelly is a serious contender for this title. Precious stuff and she has sent three jars. Home made bread tomorrow. This stuff has to be treated with respect! Meanwhile next door to Germany in France .... Oh the seamless marrying of different subjects!.....Le Tour had its penultimate day in a long individual time trial. Nothing much changed except Cadel Evans fell from 6th to 7th which was a shame but he has been a superb ambassador as last years winner. Frome did a great time but Wiggins effectively won the tour with a superb stage winning time. Two British team members in first and second place. Even seasoned commentators can't believe they have done this so quickly after the team was only formed three years ago. I of course knew they would do it. (?) of course I did. Glory in Paris tomorrow. I have totally warmed to Wiggins who has been awesome and outstanding all three weeks. He has not put a foot wrong and has even learned to be interview friendly as the tour has progressed! It makes you proud to be British. It really does. Will sit down to watch the final stage with friends tomorrow and will wallow in the glory. Wine may be drunk and crisps may be eaten. Dead cert! What will I do on Monday?!
