A group of us went to Dawyck in the Borders for a friend and fellow artists' private view (see link).  I have no idea what these plants are, just extraordinary and they smell quite strange!
A beautiful sunny day, a fab drive through the Borders and just fabulous art works.  
Extra photo - the sunlight shining through this tree just caught my attention. not sure if it comes out that well in a phone photo. never mind!
Then on our way back to Edinburgh we stopped off at another artist pal's home - more art and a fabulous garden.
