Stig of the Dump

On Friday Eric and I were called to a house where it was thought that there was a problem with a loose tile in the shower.  When the tile was removed it was found that there really was a problem with water penetration.

When that happens, the only real course of action is to strip everything out and start afresh.

Hence my trip to the local civic amenity site (at least that is what they now call it)  On duty at the site was Micky, seen here.  You may wonder what we have found to have a joke about.  Apart from the cat asleep on his desk and my interruption of his snack he had inadvertantly provided me with a replacement handle for the lid of our slow cooker, which had suffered an unfortunate melt down the previous day.

Part of our civic amenity site is a covered area known locally as "Hardly Harrods".  It is to this area that people can bring unwanted items.  To this area a kind benefactor had brought an old pan lid with a nice handle and which I have been able to re-cycle, much to the joy of Mrs. BK!
