Valued?

So today I received my 'long service award'. 20 years. Actually it's 23 but apparently the first three don't count. Either way, it's a long time.

A pen. A *fountain* pen. As a lefty it's an instrument of torture. Not top of my wish list, that's for sure.

Hand delivered by DHL in a brown cardboard box, accompanied by a form letter (unsigned of course) from some bloke I've never even met.

Feeling very valued.

Before I sound too ungrateful I should add that working here has been, at times, interesting, challenging and even fun. I've met some great people and made friends from all over the world. That's the real reward. Not a fancy pen.
