Where did all that water come from ??
If you are able to see my Friday blip, you may see that my blip today is taken from the same spot, or at least as near as I can get without scuba gear and a waterproof camera.
A lovely day and much activity at the harbour, with countless people busily following their chosen leisure time pursuits. For those interested yesterday's low tide was 1.8m above chart datum and today's high was 8.8m above chart datum so, a 7m range,
This is about 23ft which is not a particularly large one for CI waters.
In Guernsey we designate certain very low tides as Ormering Tides when people go to the beach to try and collect ormers (Abalone). These were/are considered a delicacy when beaten into submission and casseroled for many hours to make them tender. Ormer tides will have a tidal range of about 30ft.
