Tile Project

My wife began a retiling in the kitchen of one of the apartments she manages today. We felt comfortable coordinating the project ourselves rather than hiring an intermediary as we are using the husband of our housekeeper to do the work (he is a tile layer/concrete guy and has completed a couple other projects within our apartment building). He came by today to confirm that he could start mañana. We conferred with him as to the materials he would need and then persuaded him to accompany us to the various stores to procure said materials. Smart move indeed, as he speaks both Spanish and construction fluently and therefore could get everything he needed in a single outing. He is shown here checking over the tile my wife (foreground, left) had decided on, rejecting a couple of pieces that were not up to his standards. We certainly would not have thought of such a thing, nor have known what we were looking for. The real fun begins tomorrow, photos to come.
