Long day at work but made good progress with the pi. Squirting elephants through a straw (1) is now working including the progressive graph update.

Got the new year pay slip and as expected suffered a pay cut taking pension and NI contribution into account. I do realise that I have a job that I hugely enjoy. I also think that I am well paid. I could even live with a pay cut or a tax rise. However, the thing that really pisses me off is that some get nice pay rises and that our services get cut and that my money gets spent on dubious foreign adventures and bailing out the banks.

(1) elephants in this case are smallish data sets with a few tens of thousand numbers, the straw is a radio link. It takes a few minutes to transfer data over the radio link that takes about a second over the wired network.
